double knot

a practical accessory that {ties} perfectly into the nautical trend hitting the stores this spring-- rope belts, necklaces and bracelets! way back in the day ropes were used to hold up a pair of pants; today it is more about emphasizing your waist, giving shape to a shape-less dress and/or wearing a statement necklace. regardless, rope & knotted accessories are a fresh and fun addition as we approach spring!

beyond the budget

the simple yet modern design of these heels can translate to just about any outfit-- the bright yellow suede pops even more next to the rich taupe leather and stacked heel. dang, my {way out of budget} wish list is getting awfully long!

not so mellow

as the gloomy grey settles in for the week i, once again, begin to look for colors that are anything but {gloomy}. a little sunshine to brighten your day! keep an eye out for all shades of yellow as the warmer months approach- it covered the spring & summer runways.

shades of {blue}

in the coming months, if not already, shades of blue will be taking over! clothing, accessories, paint and home decor, you name it and it will probably come in a shade of blue! these bags are two of my favorite-- the soft structured leather is classic but modern in this rich royal hue. add one to my ever growing wish list please!

roses are red

i figured with valentine's being this week that {red & pink} would be a great monday post! wearing these two colors together is something most people steer clear of-- i guess it's the fear of looking like a life size valentine card! i think these images prove that shades of red and pink can easily be worn/ decorated with together. the key is bringing in other neutrals {cream, purple, black} to tone down and anchor the combination. happy monday everyone!

takin' a break

taking a short break-- be back monday, february 8th! meanwhile, enjoy these lovely photographs from designer christianne.taylor.
